Thanks to my mother and father, I am privileged to have had a global upbringing. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, with stints in Seoul, Korea and small-town Abilene, Texas, travels to Europe and Asia, and currently live in the tech epicenter of San Francisco, California. As this city would have it, my passions lie in tech and inspiring content, communications, and experiences that impact our lives and further our society.
But the real reason why you’re here is because I find sustenance in music, and I can’t afford to go without it. It’s a 20+ year love affair that fuels my passions and deepens my care for the world around me, and my/our unique place in it. When I felt stuck at a soul-crushing job and defeated after a tragic end to a romantic pursuit, I created this blog as a source of happiness, an outlet for creativity, and a form of therapy.
And I know I’m not alone in my love affair with music. We all love and consume music in some shape or form because it’s the only universal language through which we all identify with one another. But despite its power, our generation is all about quick consumption and instant gratification, all the more made possible through its easy accessibility on streaming services. How do we cater to shorter attention spans and listen to music with a little more purpose?
Well, I hope to inject some meaning and deliver social impact in the music arena. You’ll be invited to question, care, and think about a major music news headline as it relates to our world’s current affairs, issues, and hot topics. You’ll also get your fix of song, artist, and album recommendations and pop culture music news in quick, digestible chunks.
I hope that gives you a quick glimpse into my music-filled heart and mind. I’m ecstatic about this sweet-sounding adventure, and I hope you tune in for the ride!
One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. – Bob Marley
